The city of Rochester is known as The World's Imaging Center due to the advancements in photographical sciences brought about from the city's biggest three companies: Xerox, Kodak, and Bausch + Lomb. While these three companies, "The Big Three", once dominated in the field of innovation, they each had flaws and were unable to remain at the top in the wake of the digital age. Despite the decline of these comapnies over time and the hardships it brought about, the community stayed strong and showed their resilience. We've created an interactive experience where you can see the rise and fall of the "Big Three" and the perseverance of Rochesterians as they overcame challenges and pushed new life into their city.
We are three students from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) majoring in New Media Interactive Development (NMID). We've created this expereince for one of our courses where we've learned about AR in web development, the histroy of Rochester, and public art.
